The Show
It all started as a Google Hangout.
In November 2013, a D&D group built through east coast convention friendships started to drift. The game was harder to keep on the calendar, but the need to gather, talk, and make something together stuck around.
Tim, aka Kevin Spicy, floated a new idea: what if everyone watched him cook a thing instead? Those casual weekly kitchen calls became the seed of Cooking With Heat.
After TwitchCon 2015 and the launch of Twitch Creative, the crew turned the hangout into an interactive show. The first official Cooking With Heat episode aired on December 4, 2015. The recipe was pizza.
Early production was gloriously scrappy: one MacBook camera, phones as StoveCam and CounterCam, and a production computer two rooms away. Then came actual stream graphics, better layouts, more cameras, guest hosts, and a PH16 community that helped shape the whole thing from chat.
